Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. Kinney County Criminal History does not keep or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email you send long enough to review it and respond. Its contents remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive certain technical details whenever a visitor loads a page, including:
- Page-view dates and times
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Device category and operating system
- Browser name and version
- Visited pages and time spent on them
- A referring website, when one exists
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, such as popular pages and common exit points. You may block cookies through your browser settings, although doing so can change how some website functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing faults and resolving technical problems
- Maintaining reliable operation and page speed
- Routing a search query to the applicable outside service
- Assessing which resources are useful or need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Kinney County Criminal History neither maintains nor sells a database of personal criminal records. Its reference material identifies official sources, including Kinney County courts, the sheriff, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a third-party dossier or consumer report, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure rules. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Kinney County offices in Brackettville, Texas court resources, Texas DPS pages, legal-aid organizations, or outside search services. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy practices apply. Consider them before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to observe activity across websites and select targeted advertisements. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may nevertheless be available to these limited categories:
- Analytics providers measuring site use and performance
- Advertising networks placing material on site pages
- Outside search services receiving a query you submit
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for data under our control. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a person younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide additional choices based on where you live. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, governs records held by Texas governmental bodies; it does not make data held by this private website a Kinney County public record. Government Code Chapter 411 separately limits criminal-history record information held by Texas DPS and other authorized recipients. For data we hold, you may:
- Object to certain forms of processing
- Request deletion of your information
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Request a copy of data we hold about you
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised in the future. Any revision will be posted here and paired with a new effective date so visitors can identify the current version.
